A collection-level guide identifying Eureka land-office material and Humboldt Meridian township maps from 1856–1894.
Record details#
What the guide identifies#
The National Archives guide lists Humboldt Meridian township maps dated 1856–1894 among maps maintained by the Eureka land office. It also describes textual records of the Eureka office and its Humboldt predecessor. These are useful leads for federal land-office research.
The guide does not by itself identify an exact box, file, or field-note citation for every survey discussed by this library. An item-level request should specify the township, range, meridian, approximate date, and kind of record sought.
Relationship to the local plat#
The 1876 Township 2 South, Range 3 East plat is cataloged here by its county-copy reference, 100 UR 445. This archive guide is a separate research source and should not be substituted for that provenance.
Use the BLM GLO Records portal as another federal-record entry point. The Humboldt Meridian research center explains the framework and the chronology still requiring archival confirmation.
