This page describes the services used by this reference publication, including local reading preferences and Google AdSense.
Reading preferences#
Theme and reading-width choices are stored in your browser’s local storage. They do not require an account. You can remove them by clearing this site’s browser data. First-time visitors see the Light theme. Explicitly saved choices remain in effect; Auto follows the device’s color-scheme preference when selected.
Site search#
Search downloads a static index from JaySmithRoad.com and matches your query in your browser. The search feature does not send query text to a search provider or analytics service.
Website requests and external links#
Loading pages and files sends ordinary web requests to the hosting server. Server security and access logs may include connection and request information, such as an IP address, requested path, and browser information. This page does not promise a retention period that has not been established.
Following an external link takes you to that organization’s service and privacy practices. Public pages load the Google AdSense script as described below. No separate analytics service is configured. The video library loads a YouTube privacy-enhanced player only after you select its load control.
Advertising and measurement#
Google AdSense is installed on public content pages. Loading these pages can connect your browser to Google advertising services, even when no advertisement is displayed. Google and its partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, browser information, and other identifiers to deliver and measure advertising, limit repetition, and detect fraud. Ad personalization depends on applicable consent choices and Google’s settings.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s advertising privacy information. You can manage Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center and manage cookies through your browser. Clearing browser data also removes this site’s locally saved reading preferences.
Advertising is separate from editorial research and source selection. No Amazon or Walmart affiliate integration, direct-sponsor delivery, or separate analytics tracker is configured.

Regional data and video#
The live conditions service retrieves public agency data on the server and serves a shared cache. Viewing conditions does not send your browser’s request to the government APIs. Video playback is different: selecting a video’s load control contacts YouTube. The privacy-enhanced player reduces pre-playback storage, but this site does not promise that playback is free of third-party data processing.
